About Primary School Tutoring
KS1 (Year 1 and 2)
The early years of school are where confidence is built and a love of learning begins. Sessions at KS1 are relaxed, engaging and tailored entirely to your child whether they need a little extra support to keep up, or they're ready to be stretched further.

Reading and writing take centre stage at this stage, alongside the foundations of maths. Every session works at your child's pace, not a textbook's.

Sessions are available as 1-to-1 or in small groups of up to 5. Small groups are a great option if your child works well alongside others, or if you'd like to share the experience and the cost with another family.
KS2 (Year 3 - 6)
As children move through KS2, learning becomes more demanding and independent. Whether your child is finding the step up tricky, needs help consolidating topics, or is preparing for Year 6 SATs, sessions are built around exactly where they are right now.

English shifts from basic reading to comprehension, inference and extended writing. Maths broadens to include fractions, decimals, geometry and problem solving. We work across all of it.
​
Both 1-to-1 and small group sessions are available across KS2. Year 6 students approaching SATs are recommended for 1-to-1 sessions to ensure preparation is fully targeted to their individual needs.

KS1 (Year 1 and 2)

English: phonics, early reading, handwriting, spelling and basic grammar

Maths: counting, number bonds, addition and subtraction, basic multiplication and division, shapes and simple measurements

Science: plants, animals, materials and seasonal changes (available on request)
KS2 (Year 3 - 6)

English: reading comprehension, inference and analysis, extended writing across different genres, grammar, punctuation and spelling (GPS)

Maths: times tables, fractions, decimals and percentages, ratio, algebra, geometry and statistics

SATs preparation (Year 6): reading, GPS and maths papers, available as focused 1-to-1 sessions for the run up to May exams
